Vanuatu Pacifica Foundation Project:
The Vanuatu Pacifica Project is an artist run initiative that focuses on how art can help reframe some of the issues facing our global community as they navigate the eddies and currents of climate change. It is based in Vanuatu, a nation of 83 islands in the Central South Pacific. The Vanuatu Pacifica Foundation takes its mandate from a core based in science, the arts, and a progressive agenda that combines sustainable design practices in architecture, land use, economics, and everything in between.
During the summer of 2013, a multi-disciplinary team will head out to Efate - the capital island - to explore and asses the 1000 acre preserve that was purchased by an anonymous partner 20 minutes outside of the capital near an area called Rentapao Bridge in Shefa Province. The purpose of the expedition is to gather material for research for a design planning process.
